I got up this morning and went to the doctor box for my grandmother. I realized something was wrong when she had been gone for five consecutive days. Although she was fine when I saw her, she has since lost the ability to recall the exact time of day. I asked her when she thought she was at her doctor, and she replied “I don’t recall.”

Five days are too long for anyone to be absent from work. You’ll be wasting time working with your doctor if you can’t get in on the first day due to an emergency. When I became a nurse practitioner the first thing I did was to shift from being an attending doctor to working at a specialty level. He needed more education and specialized training than most doctors did, but it fit into my job and allowed me more flexibility. He was also a doctor, but he refused to become a surgeon.

She was under doctor’s orders to never work again. She was admitted to surgery within hours of her accident. She passed away within 24 hours. The majority of the medical school faculty at the medical school are doctors in their respective specialties.

Not all doctors can effortlessly transition from medical school to becoming a surgeon, general practitioner, or surgeon. Some doctors do not have the ability to diagnose and treat stroke-related symptoms right away when they occur. This is why I believe that it is important for doctors to specialize in a particular area of medicine that is closely linked to the area of medicine they would like to practice. For instance for a doctor who wants to become a cardiologist, he must be interested in the field of cardiovascular issues.

It has been suggested by a few that it is acceptable for a doctor’s focus to be his or her studies on the less exciting aspects of medicine. A doctorate degree that is concentrated on pediatricians, or another field that is less exciting such as surgical tech or radiology would be a benefit to the doctor. Although I believe that doctors should be able to focus their studies in one medical field, it doesn’t mean that they cannot have an interest in other areas. A doctor can choose to specialize in a different area of medicine.

Some doctorate programs will require that a doctor finish either a residency or an internship prior to completing the doctoral program. A residency can last for five years and takes about two years to complete. The internship gives doctors more clinical experience to prepare them for the doctorate-level dissertation.

One of the most well-known doctorates of the moment is a pharmacy degree. This doctorate is not capable of prescribing pharmaceutical products however it allows the doctor to conduct research and assist pharmacists with filling out the correct prescription forms. Doctors of Pharmacy are typically involved in teaching and conducting clinical research. While a pharmacy degree does not make doctors patent scientists but it can help should they choose to.

There are numerous options in the selection of a specialty in medicine. Many doctors opt to continue practicing medicine for a number of years before becoming a doctor. Some opt to pursue a doctorate program because they are confident about a higher academic commitment. Whatever the reason, doctors are generally very happy with their decision to improve their education and advance their career.
