The Benefits Of Yoga Meditation

Have you ever noticed how individuals who meditate look and feel more relaxed than those who do not meditate? With those thoughts in mind, wouldn’t you like to start meditating in order to feel great? Meditating is a great way to relax your mind, body and soul, which is why so many people do it each day. Of course, you can’t just jump right in and start meditating – you have to know what to do. God is everywhere but you don’t continuously feel Him. You have to concentrate on His presence and sense Him. Don’t move on to the next step if you are not literally feeling God.

Close your eyes and begin to breathe deeply. Breathing in and out through your nose. Allow the breath to be drawn in through the stomach so that it expands as you inhale.

Likewise, a brief meditation in the evening, or at the end of your work-day, helps you re-balance from the rigors of the day. Over the course of a day, these demands (work, school, family responsibilities, etc.) can gradually draw us out of balance and out of our “center.” A brief meditation helps you recover this balance and re-center. It also gives your mind, body, and emotions a healthy interval for some much-needed rest.

Whatever religious tradition you believe, you can practice mantra meditation, and grow closer to your beliefs. If you have no religious beliefs, you can choose a mantra that has meaning to you. You could use an affirmation, perhaps, “I am peaceful and happy”.
